The opportunity

The Paid Search Specialist will be an integral part of our Paid Media Team. This team member will provide support for many critical aspects of the campaign planning & launch process across our Paid Search advertising campaigns, ranging from audience & keyword research, campaign & ad builds, 3rd party integration setups, ongoing optimization, reporting & analysis, and more.

What you’ll do

  • Own the building and day-to-day management of paid campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, including but not limited to Paid Search, Performance Max, and Demand Gen campaign types.
  • Execute rigorous keyword management - initial keyword research, expansion, refinement, and negative keyword-sculpting to ensure high relevance and low wasted spend.
  • Adjust and refine bid strategies based on performance trends, seasonal shifts, and market competition.
  • Confidently navigate campaign types, attribution models, conversion tracking, audience targeting, and bidding strategies to drive continuous account improvements.
  • Identify tracking needs or issues for current campaigns and assist other teams in setting up new conversion events or troubleshooting when necessary
  • Improve Quality Scores, ad relevance, and landing page experience through ongoing optimizations and best practice implementation.
  • Initiate and manage creative requests to get necessary ad assets from our design team based on channel requirements

Who you are

  • You are a paid media marketer with 3+ years of experience building and managing campaigns in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads (experience with Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and other ad platforms are a plus)
  • You have a solid understanding of ad platform metrics and what success looks like based on campaign and business goals
  • You have an extensive experience with the various bid strategies and budget management tactics within Google Ads and Bing Ads
  • You are data-driven and analytical, always challenging the status quo to drive better outcomes
  • You can read and comprehend data, with the ability to synthesize and communicate key findings

Salary Range

  • Cloudflare Developer Stack Experience: Hands-on experience building, deploying, or architecting solutions using Cloudflare’s developer platform and AI ecosystem, specifically Workers AI and AI Gateway.
  • Applied AI Knowledge: Experience with prompt engineering, Large Language Model (LLM) orchestration, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Coding/Scripting: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages to write custom integration scripts, API connectors, and edge computing functions.

Compensation This role features a competitive base salary and a variable commission structure tied directly to the successful execution of full-lifecycle commercial targets, including new business acquisition, ongoing adoption milestones, and overall account expansion.

About the Role

Wayve is pioneering Embodied AI for autonomous driving. As we build on the momentum of our recent $1.2B Series D funding ($2.5B raised to date) and continue to expand our Japan footprint, we are looking for a Recruiter to join our team in Tokyo.

In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top-tier technical and strategic talent to support our rapid growth in Japan and beyond. You’ll collaborate closely with hiring managers and leadership to understand business needs and develop robust talent strategies.

This role will support a wide range of positions as we scale our global partnerships. You will play a critical role in building the high-performing teams that drive our innovation and business impact forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to conducting interviews and extending offers, ensuring equitable hiring practices and diverse talent pipelines.
  • Japan Market Expansion: Act as a pivotal member of our Japan talent team, helping to establish and grow our local footprint in the highly competitive Japan market.
  • Candidate Experience: Champion a world-class, positive candidate experience by providing transparent, timely communication, constructive feedback, and a seamless interview process.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with hiring managers and Product & Strategy leaders to understand hiring needs, providing consultative guidance on market realities, attraction, and closing strategies.

About You

To set you up for success as a Recruiter at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Proven Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated success in recruitment, ideally within deep tech, AI, autonomous vehicles, and fast-paced, scaling startup environment.
  • Technical & Strategic Acumen: A strong understanding of complex technical, product, and strategy-focused roles. You have a proven ability to gather requirements, assess specialized skills, and align hiring strategies with overarching business goals.
  • Bilingual Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English, with the ability to build trust with candidates, hiring managers, and senior stakeholders across local and global teams.
  • Organisational Excellence: Meticulous attention to detail and strong time management skills, capable of juggling multiple high-priority roles and deadlines without dropping the ball.
